PURPOSEFUL LIVING. A CHEERFUL GIVER




INTRODUCTION

God expects us to give not out of duty or with a sense of obligation. Giving also should not be a habitual action that have no heart connection to the gift. Our giving to God should reflect our unspeakable love and gratitude to Him. When we do so our giving to God becomes joyful and cheerful.


2 Corinthians 9:6-15

I. GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER

A. Psalm 41:1-3

B. Isaiah 58:6-11

II. GOD PROVIDES SEED FOR THE SOWER: V.6, 8-11a

A. We reap what we sow

B. What we reap serves a dual purpose.
i.  Bread for food
ii. Seed for the sewer

III. GIVING PRODUCES THANKSGIVING AND GLORY TO GOD: V. 11b - 15
A. Offered by those whose needs are met

B. It helps us to give more cheerfully.

IV. GIVING INCREASES AFFECTION: V. 14-15

A. Increase affection between the giver and the receiver

B. Philippians 1:3-13

CONCLUSION

Purposeful giving leads to cheerful giving. V.7

1. Planning ones giving is a key to cheerful giving. 1 Corinthians 16:1-4

2. Prepare your gift beforehand. 2 Co. 9:5

3. Plan your giving to help the needy and also for the harvest and other kingdom projects. Don’t only plan be prepared to give.

CONCLUSION
God is the best giver of all time. He is also a cheerful giver. He gave His best to the world, he expects the best from us.
