LIVING BEYOND EXCUSES -Developing a Culture of Allegiance

LIVING BEYOND EXCUSES
Developing a Culture of Allegiance

DEUTERONOMY 4:5-8

Definition of culture:

“The set of shared values and norms that characterize a particular organization”

“The values and behaviors that contribute to the unique social and psychological environment of an organization”

“The set of unique customs and values that the church members are accustomed to” D. H-M

Key 1: The North wind –

Pro. 25:23

Your face is the North wind. Use facial expression to neutralize evil talks. A frown at the right moment will stop malicious talkers and forestall allegiance

Key 2: The constant pruning –
1 Cor. 5:6-7a
  • Remove those who are disloyal quickly
Key 3: The creating of fire –

Acts 28:3
  • Create avenues that will expose disloyal persons.
  • Don’t be under pressure to promote/put people in position
Key 4: Working with willing people – 2 Cor. 8:12
  • make way for unwilling people to exit peacefully

Key 5: Teaching against disloyalty – Deut. 4:5-8
  • Constant education and practice will drive away disloyalty to a large percent from the people.
CULTURE OF ALLEGIANCE

  •  Love Jesus
  •  Others-centered
  •  Yield to those who lead you
  •  Accept responsibility
  •  Learn always
  •  Trust your teammates
  •  You matter to God    - Derwin L. Gray
